Design firm showroom features
Kurt Merkel artwork
Collins & DuPont highlights work of Miami artist
BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (Dec. 1, 2009) -- Regional interior design firm Collins & DuPont is featuring the work of artist Kurt Merkel in their showroom, announced co-owners Kim Collins and Sherri DuPont.
Merkel's art features three-dimensional, mixed media
works combining wood, metal, acrylic glass, stone, and various textures. The pieces in the showroom are painted
on birchwood, with fluid lines and metal molded into curves. Merkel is also featured in the local Sweet Art gallery,
which is how he came to the attention of Collins & DuPont.
The installation is a part of the seasonal showroom remodeling. Collins & DuPont changes their showroom
twice annually, to reflect design trends. Currently, the showroom features Adriana Hoyos, Baker Furniture,
Thayer-Coggin, Bolier and Drexel Heritage.
